I am a California girl, that's for sure, and I do live in Surf City (Santa Cruz) so I guess you can figure that I am a mellow little waif floating along on the light beams of life. Yeah right! The light beams in my life come from my acetylene and oxygen torch.
For the last fifteen years I have been a professional welder. I started by taking an industrial arts course at Cabrillo College. There weren't many women taking this course at that time. As a matter of fact I was the only one. I became a member of the Iron Workers Union in San Francisco in 1985. For twelve years I worked on the high-rises of that great city. But after awhile it got to be a little too much doing the commute from Santa Cruz and trying to raise my three kids. So I stopped the dangerous side of welding and started the artistic.
For a long time I had wanted to be more artistic with my life. I knew I had it in me. But it took some encouragement from my friends and family before I took the step. I have combined my experience with my desire and am now producing beautiful welded works of art for the home and garden.
I use acetylene and oxygen torches to cut the steel and I also use a wire feed welder at times. All pieces are one of a kind as you can imagine. I specialize in custom orders and 3D designs. The samples page will give you an idea about my work. Cost varies with the complexity and size of each piece but I think that you will see that my prices are more than reasonable.
